This week ended with Father’s day. My father means a lot to me. He taught me Dutch and to read when I was 3/4 years and to play table tennis. Up to this day, he is my handyman. And so much more. Raul and I had lunch with him and my mom. We talked about the past. How I was as a small child and how my daughter was as a child. We both asked a lot of questions.
Although we talked a lot about the past, this week was more about the near future. Why?
Well, our table tennis federation has a new board of directors. I used to be on the board like twenty-something years ago. They asked me again but I want to dedicate more time to myself and my family. The new president is Raymond Begina. The first time I represented Curacao in a Caribbean Championship abroad, Raymond was there too. He was the oldest male player. At that time there was a soap on television where a little girl called her grandfather Abue, short for Abuelo (Spanish). So I started to call Raymond Abue. I still call him Abue.
Abue formed a team with some known faces and some new ones. They have a lot of experience in the corporate world. Hopefully, they will make table tennis in Curacao great again in the future.
Raul and I have been talking more about the future. What do we see? What do we want? How to get there? I think that projects like CashFX, Amway, and Elite Investment help us get where we want to. Raul has less patience.
CashFX is doing its thing. I upgraded last week. After a week with a bigger package, I am loving it more and more.
Amway is pushing my creativity more and more. Sometimes I get a brilliant idea, but it doesn’t work in the real world. I had made flyers for packages for Father’s Day, no sale. I approached a group with some products I know they use, but they wanted the cheapest products available. Amway products are quality products so the prices are not in the lowest category. So I have been wracking my brains to find other strategies.
The same person who introduced me to CashFX introduced me to Elite Investment. Elite Investment works with contracts of 6 days. In the end you can buy a new one, and then again, again and again. Now I could use my math very well to calculate that you can double your investment in 7 months. You can start with $100. It’s worth trying.
This was a very exciting week for my daughter. Her future is taking shape. She wants to study abroad and has been busy with her applications. This week she had her first interview by zoom. She is very shy, so she was a little nervous. But it went very well. They were impressed by her English (she finished high school with a 9 out of 10 and her fluency). They told her that she had to wait for 2 to 3 weeks to know if she was accepted.
In reality, it only took 3 days; she is in. I got excited. I remember the time I went to study in the Netherlands. I was so excited. I was only 17, but ready to live alone and make my own choices. For almost 2 years I wrote to my mom every week. Now I realize I was already writing weeklies back then.
Another good thing that happened for my daughter was that with her acceptance into the university, the university will provide a room for her. In the Netherlands, a lot of things are possible and easy to get. A home is not one of them. Most students have been on a waiting list for at least a year to get a place. So this is super good news.
